We gave the main level of this 1987 West Des Moines home a new, modern look along with improving the flow and function of the kitchen. We blended the kitchen with the informal dining area by designing a larger, stylish island that now extends from the kitchen into the dining area, adding more counter space and convenient seating. We opened up the kitchen entryway by removing a closet, which was a “game changer,” according to our customer. Due to a more efficient cabinetry design, we were able to decrease the size of the pantry to allow for a larger refrigerator, and the original kitchen desk was redesigned into a coffee bar. Other updates include modernized upper and lower level bathrooms, a new, modern stone fireplace wall with new built-ins, plus updated white woodwork and light fixtures throughout. This project demonstrates that a big transformation is possible with relatively small updates and thoughtful planning!
